Sprinkler Fitter
The Work
Sprinkler fitters are pipefitter specialists who install fire
protection
systems.
The Working Conditions
Sprinkler fitters carry heavy pieces of pipe, climb and work at various
heights, and must have the manual dexterity to handle the tools of the
trade. It is hard, dirty work. Fitters often work indoors
between
the roofs and ceilings of buildings or outside installing underground
pipework.
They often travel to different job sites.
Wages
Open Shop
Apprentice: $9.72 per hour
Journey:
$19.45 per hour
