Roofer
The Work
Work is done outdoors in all types of weather, at heights and on
varying
roof structures. Roofers must be strong enough to lift heavy
rolls
of roof material and tar. Conditions are often dirty, and hazards
include falls from high roofs. Some tools include poser tools,
winches
and shovels, driving and operating heavy equipment.
The Working Conditions
The work is done year round in all kinds of weather. The heights
and roof structures vary. Roofers must be able to lift the heavy
roofing materials.
Wages Union
Apprentice: $13.29 per hour
Journey person: $23.65 per hour
