Line Repairer
The Work
Utility electrical workers construct and maintain overhead and
underground
electric lines and facilities that distribute electricity to
residential,
commercial, industrial and agricultural consumers.
The Working Conditions
Line repairers work outdoors in all types of weather. Workers
must be agile and capable of performing strenuous work under adverse
conditions.
They are required to climb and work on poles or structures near high
voltage
conductors. Line repairers work extended hours during storms or
inclement
weather to restore electrical service to customers.
