NECA-IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship

Our apprenticeship program offers applicants a career in the Electrical Construction Industry. Apprentices attend 180 hours of related schooling per year while working in our Residential Construction program, Low Voltage Technician program , or General Journeyman Inside Wireman program. Apprentices learn their skills on the job while learning the technical theories related to the job in a high tech classroom or lab setting. Each apprentice will work under the supervision of a licensed wireman or technician for one of our many contractors for great wages and benefits. Apprentice job duties vary from installing raceway systems and pulling wire to mounting lighting fixtures, fire alarm and security systems to installing traffic signals and street lighting.
Students earn a living wage, receive health and pension benefits and complete a program that it recognized nationwide as a benchmark for the electrical construction industry.

Topics of training range from residential power and audio/video wiring, to conduit bending and commercial installation procedures to programmable controllers and fire alarm systems. Other specialized training is provided in HVAC controls, Instrumentation, Fiber optics and Solar and renewable energy. While attending related training in the classroom, students have the potential to receive a college degree upon completion, with some additional classes through colleges affiliated with the training center.
