Since 1989, Oregon Tradeswomen has offered a “hand up”:  Economic independence and a secure future for women and their families.

Our training and support services help create a pipeline of skilled, qualified workers for the industries building and maintaining the Portland metro region.

Your support makes sure our programs are available to those who need them. Your contributions help us expand our employer base and increase opportunities for women with these employers.

Like all nonprofit organizations, Oregon Tradeswomen relies on a numerous funding sources. By making a monthly gift, you help us create a source of financial stability. We invite you to become one of our Foundation Partners with a sustaining donation of $10 or more per month.

“I am happy to support Oregon Tradeswomen! You’re doing such good work for women, including my daughter. She will journey out at the age of 22 with the NW Carpenter’s Union later this year.

I would not have known how to help her without the support of Oregon Tradeswomen.”

– Dr. Leslie Carter

Bert Martinez Fund

A strong supporter of women in the trades, Bert recognized, trained, and mentored talent. She pushed her people to be the best she knew they could be -- to be better than they thought they could be.

Bert broke down walls and built bridges in their place.

She had so many strengths, talents, abilities -- and the greatest of these is love. It was Bert's superpower and she used that power for good.

All donations made in Bert's name will provide lumber, tools and training support for Oregon Tradeswomen's workshop.

Helen Getchell Women of Color Scholarship Fund

Oregon Tradeswomen manages the Helen Getchell Women of Color Scholarship Fund. This fund supports tradeswomen of color to succeed by providing financial resources to help remove barriers to a career in the skilled construction trades. Seed money for the fund was started with a generous donation by a tradeswoman who believes in “paying it forward”. Allocation of funds are overseen by the Scholarship Advisory Committee, comprised of industry partners who are committed to inclusion and equity, and the success of women of color in the construction industry.
