Technician
The Work
Limited energy electricians install and repair electrical systems and
equipment of 100 VA or less including sound, public address, nurse
call,
fire and burglar alarms, inter-communication systems, and closed
circuit
television. Apprentices learn lay-out techniques that meet the
requirements
of the Electrical Advisory Board of Oregon, Building Codes.
The Working Conditions
This work can be dirty and strenuous and may require working in cold
and wet conditions. Climbing and working on ladders and in
confined
crawl spaces is common. Limited energy electricians use
electrical
metering devices, cable pulling devices, electrical hand tools,
soldering
tools, hammers, drills, side cutters and fish tapes.

Restricted Energy Technician Apprentice: $9.33 per hour
Journey: $18.66 per hour
